• It redirects your request to the closest server that resolves the domain name.
• Nameservers: Map domains to IP addresses
• Subdomains: blog in blog.domain.com
  • They allow you to use a different server.

Records

• Rules that tell domain name servers how to handle traffic to your domains and subdomains.
• Common records: A, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS.
